Newborn Baby Quilt Made of Cotton Fabric Featuring Peter Rabbit

Aisne Naomi Platt welcomes you to her shop, I like to work with patterned cotton fabrics, ribbons, trimmings, felt and buttons to create beautiful things to share.

This sweet-pea quilt featuring Peter Rabbit has been handmade in my sewing room at home in Cornwall, UK. It is made from 100% cotton, upper and lower layers, edging and wadding fabric, making not only a very beautiful product it is also a very natural product.

This quilt is ideal to use as a bed cover for a new born baby’s bed, pram or as a knee blanket for a push-chair. Either way its a very special piece that can be loved and cherished and handed down from generation to generation to be treasured as a lovely family heirloom.

The quilt top represents the colours of a lovely bunch of sweet-peas featuring an array of subtle peaches, blues and pure white with blue squares featuring Peter Rabbit having fun in Mr McGregor’s garden. It is made of cotton squares with floral, polka-dot, and heart patterns and plain white cotton which has a shadow leaf pattern. The backing fabric is made of cream cotton fabric which has a subtle polka-dot patten in white. The bias edging is in baby-blue polka-dot cotton. The inner padding wadding is made from 100% cotton which will keep baby warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

The quilt measurements are approximately 58cm/22.5in wide and 76cm/30in long. Each square is approximately 8.5cm/3.5in sq.

I recommend washing at a low temperature machine wash with a gentle spin and line or tumble dry.
