Upcycled Vintage Cotton Christening, Baptism or Baby Naming Day Outfit with Petticoat and Pink Satin Rosebud Detail
Aisne Naomi Platt welcomes you to her shop; I like to work with patterned cotton fabrics, ribbons, trimmings, felt and buttons to create beautiful things to share.
Everything is handmade or upcycled in my sewing room at home in Cornwall, UK.
This beautiful vintage christening gown or naming day gown has been made of exceptionally fine cotton fabric with a finely stitched bodice tie area and lace edging on the collar, hem and cuffs.
The petticoat is made of beautiful fine cotton too. It has a tiny satin bow sewn to the front and I have added vintage mother of pearl buttons to the back.
It is so pretty it would be perfect for a traditional, vintage-style christening or baby naming day and could be kept as an heirloom piece for future generations.
The gown has been thoroughly washed and is completely intact.
To enhance this beautiful gown I have sewn tiny cream pearl beads to the lace collar, the bodice belt area and to the end of the tie belt. I have also added pretty pale pink and rose pink stain rose buds to the collar, cuffs, bodice and hemline.
This gown is approximately 82cm/32inches long and would be suitable for a baby up to six months old, depending upon the size of the baby. Please contact me if you need additional measurements. I have photographed a soft-bodied doll wearing the gown for indication of the size.
I recommend washing it at a low-temperature machine or hand washing with a gentle spin and line dry. Do not tumble dry.
The doll is for display purposes only and is not for sale.
